Turn your spring break into a scientific adventure
Discovery Place Science
Thanks to Queen Charlotte, our groundhog friend at Charlotte Nature Museum, we know that spring is right around the corner. That can only mean one thing -- it's almost time for Spring Break Camps!
We have a little something for every elementary school student, from kindergarten through 5th grade, as we study the solar system, learn about life in the oceans, take a closer look at rainforests, and much more.
I'm especially excited about the options for 4th and 5th graders. We'll be studying the real science behind our favorite comic book characters in Superhero Science, from genetics and mechanical advantage to emergent technologies such as liquid body armor.
LEGO Mindstorms NXTs are the focus of our Robotics camp, where we'll be learning how to program these amazing machines to interact with their environment. Ancient Worlds allows us to recreate some of the technologies that shaped life today, while we look toward the future with the tiniest science in existence -- nanotechnology -- as we take part in the nationwide celebration of atoms and molecules during NanoDays.
If you're looking for fun for your child during the week of April 1-5, Discovery Place is the place to be!
