Charlotte's biggest geek fest, HACKATHONclt, is coming to Discovery Place Science and everyone's invited.

Tresata and Harris Teeter are hosting their fifth-annual team-based competition to showcase the growing field of data science and technology in the region. Area tech developers, designers, analysts and others will test their skills in a fast-paced overnight coding challenge which aims to solve a business problem for a local non-profit using big data and mobile technology.

Spectators of all ages are welcome to cheer on participating hackers as they finish their grueling overnight coding marathon on Saturday March 25. Starting at 9:00 a.m., Museum visitors will watch as the final moments count-down and the judging of each team begins to see who wins $20,000 in cash & prizes.

While the awards ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m., Discovery Place Science educators will also offer hackathon-inspired activities for Museum guests throughout Saturday in Thinker Space.
