Make & Mingle: Modern Wooden Planter

Looking for a versatile way to decorate your home with plants?

Build a modern wooden planter to satisfy your spring and summer gardening needs at our next Make & Mingle event, an adults-only DIY craft workshop at Discovery Place Science. Participants will use wooden slats to build the planter using woodworking and fabrication techniques. Plants will be included, but will differ from what is shown in the photo.

Wooden planters are a great for accent landscaping because they easily complement other outdoor furniture like wood benches and tables. The planters are also ideal in the summer heat because they help prevent the soil from heating up too much. These wooden planters are also:

  • Portable
  • Accessible
  • Easy to maintain
  • Can be used to grow plants indoors
  • Increase curb appeal

Create your own modern wooden planter with us and bring greenery to your apartment, condo or home.

Capacity is limited to 25 participants. Let us know if you're coming with someone else so we can seat you together!

Registration fee is $55 and includes popcorn, one beer/wine ticket and free parking in the Discovery Place Science Parking Deck.

Park on Level 3 of the Discovery Place Science Parking Deck and follow the over street walkway to Thinker Space, an all-new workshop and makerspace where you can get messy and try new skills.

Must be 21 or older. Photo ID required for Museum entry. Check-in will be on Level 3. All IDs will be checked at the door.
