Uptown’s biggest social event is back, and you’re invited to join us monthly when Discovery Place Science stays open after hours for adults only. Grab a cocktail, encounter an animal, see a science show and get hands-on in our labs with 1,000 of your closest friends!

Dance to the music or chill in our 7-story Charlotte IMAX Dome Theatre for a documentary or planetarium show. Grab a date or a group of friends and make the night your own!

Our reimagined monthly series lets you experience the Museum after hours in a grown-up, kids-free environment. Create an evening all your own by adding cocktails and upgraded experiences when you arrive.

The ticket price provides full access to Discovery Place Science in a kids-free environment.

There are no refunds on tickets.

Where is the accessible entrance?

The accessible entrance is located on Level 3 of the Discovery Place Parking Deck. Get directions using Google Maps.

Once there, guests can use the pedestrian overpass to enter the Museum.

Do you have to be 21 years old to attend Science on the Rocks?

Yes, all attendees must be 21 years old and are required to show a photo ID at the door.

Will there be movies showing in IMAX during Science on the Rocks?

How much is parking?

Parking is available at the evening rate of $10. It is available in the Discovery Place Science Parking Deck located at 220 W 6th Street. If the Discovery Place Parking Deck is full when you arrive, you can find parking nearby on 7th and Church St.
