Antarctica and its surrounding Southern Ocean play a vital role for the entire planet by regulating ocean currents, sea levels, and wildlife-filled waters which absorb huge amounts of carbon. New science is revealing that dramatic changes are occurring and rapidly warming this pristine land of snow and ice. It will take global cooperation and collaboration to protect it and ensure the future health of our planet.

Will I be required to wear a face mask while attending the show?
At this time, masks are not required but strongly encouraged for all Museum visitors.

Where do I park?
The Discovery Place paid parking deck entrance is located at 220 W Sixth St., Charlotte, North Carolina 28202. Get directions using Google Maps.

What entrance do I use?
The entrance to the Accenture IMAX Dome Theatre is located on 6th St. between Tryon St. & Church St.

When can I arrive?
Evening shows: Museum doors open 30 minutes prior to showtime and theatre doors open 20 minutes prior to showtime.
Daytime shows: Theatre doors open 15 minutes prior to showtime. If your showtime is during regular Museum operating hours, your ticket does not include admission into Discovery Place Science. Museum admission tickets can be purchased here.

Are my seats in the IMAX theatre assigned?
Seating is not assigned.

Will the concessions stand be open? Can I bring my own snacks or drinks?
Food and drinks are not permitted inside the theatre.
